A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS -

A VOICE FOR THE VOICELESS -

MY CAMPAIGN

I am running as an independent to represent District 7 on the St. Tammany Parish Council

I believe:

  • Preservation, restoration and conservation will restore the quality of life in our communities and create economic opportunity

  • Transparency, accountability and availability are needed in our elected official

  • We are paying taxes without proper representation

My issues include:

  • Families, especially veterans, seniors and youth who need our rich heritage and culture to thrive

  • Inadequate infrastructure and changes to parish zoning that compromises our future

  • The strain on our tax base caused by uncontrolled growth and mismanagement

  • The effects of growth on those who work in our hospitals, schools, senior centers, fire and police departments

  • The proposed levee that could increase flooding in Dist. 7

  • Potential health hazards that are not being addressed

  • Lack of local water resource management

I will:

  • Hold monthly meetings to review the Council Agenda with constituents of District 7

  • Analyze proposed ordinances, zoning changes and budgets to provide an informed vote

  • Respect the input of all District 7 voters on matters that pertain to their lives

  • Work to develop cultural preservation of our historic communities

A Historic Race:

I am the first woman of color to run to represent Dist. 7; the first woman of color to run for St. Tammany Parish Council;

and the first person of American Indian descent to run for election in St. Tammany Parish.
